El portavoz del Gobierno alemán, Steffen Hebestreit, declaró este miércoles que no existe ningún dato que pruebe algún incumplimiento por parte de Rusia de sus obligaciones contractuales de suministro de gas a Alemania.
Horas antes se informó que la Unión Europea (UE) está estudiando la posibilidad de imponer sanciones a Rusia, en particular, si tiene lugar un «suministro limitado» de gas.
El Kremlin declaró que Rusia siempre ha cumplido de manera impecable sus contratos de suministro de gas a la UE y nunca brindó razones para que se pusiera en duda su confiabilidad.
La información sobre estas posibles nuevas sanciones contra Moscú aparece en medio de las tensiones en torno a Ucrania que se fueron agravando en las últimas semanas por la supuesta acumulación de tropas rusas cerca de la frontera ucraniana que Occidente interpreta como preparativos para una posible invasión
Rusia rechaza esas sospechas, defiende el derecho a mover fuerzas dentro de su propio territorio según lo estime conveniente y acusa a la OTAN de buscar pretextos para emplazar más equipamiento militar cerca de las fronteras rusas.
