República Dominicana. – La escuela básica Matías Ramón Mella del municipio Matanzas, provincia Peravia, sufrió varios daños en su estructura ante el temblor registrado en República Dominicana de 5.3 grados.
Otras dos escuelas del municipio también presentan daños en su estructura, según informó el encargado de la Defensa Civil del municipio, Elvin Báez.

Tanto el segundo nivel como el primero de las instalaciones del centro educativo Matías Ramón Mella presentaron algunas grietas, por lo que las autoridades decidieron suspender la docencia, hasta que el Ministerio de Educación y la Defensa Civil evalúen las condiciones del edificio.
