La demanda civil por abuso sexual de Virginia Giuffre contra el príncipe Andrés de Inglaterra fue formalmente desestimada este martes por el juez de la corte federal de Manhattan, Lewis Kaplan, recoge New York Post citando documentos judiciales.
Esta decisión se produjo luego de que ambas partes llegaran a un acuerdo extrajudicial en febrero, por el cual el hijo de la reina Isabel II se comprometió a pagar una suma financiera confidencial a la denunciante.
«Este es un paso importante, pero no debería ser el último paso para hacer que los facilitadores y participantes de Jeffrey Epstein rindan cuentas», manifestó David Boies, abogado de Giuffre, citado por New York Times, quien confirmó que el príncipe Andrés realizó el pago correspondiente a su cliente.
