El Poder Judicial de Perú negó la solicitud de la presidenta del partido Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimori, para viajar a España entre el 22 y el 27 de enero con la finalidad de participar en una actividad de World Law Foundation que se realizará en Madrid y a la que fue invitada, recoge el diario La República.
El juez Víctor Zúñiga adoptó esta medida atendiendo una acusación fiscal de más de 30 años de prisión en contra de Fujimori. Asimismo, consideró que durante el viaje no habría ningún control por parte de alguna autoridad peruana para que informe sobre las actividades que podría realizar la política en el país europeo.
La excandidata presidencial enfrenta un proceso penal por los presuntos delitos de crimen organizado, lavado de activos, obstrucción a la justicia y falsa declaración en procedimiento administrativo bajo régimen de comparecencia con restricciones, en el que se incluye no ausentarse de la ciudad donde reside sin autorización judicial.
