A 8 años de la noche de Iguala, la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) recordó los hechos e hizo un llamado a las autoridades a garantizar la independencia de la Unidad Especial de Investigación y Litigación para el Caso Ayotzinapa (UEILCA), órgano responsable de la investigación.
En un comunicado emitido este 26 de septiembre, la CIDH reconoció los “esfuerzos sin precedentes para mantener la continua búsqueda de los estudiante”, así como la creación de mecanismos institucionales, pero pidió que se respete a la UEILCA.

La Comisión señaló que ha recibido información preocupante indicando que la UEILCA estaría siendo objeto de desplazamiento en sus funciones ministeriales.
