La Defensoría del Pueblo de Perú informó que 58 personas han muerto como consecuencia de las protestas en contra del Gobierno de Dina Boluarte.
Luis Alvarado, portavoz de la Defensoría, informó en entrevista para la radio local Exitosa Noticias, que, de la cifra total, 10 fueron civiles que murieron en accidentes de tránsito vinculados a los bloqueos realizados por los manifestantes y 48 más fueron por conflictos directos en las manifestaciones.
En este sentido, Alvarado advirtió que hay una «situación de riesgo» en el bloqueo de carretas, pues esto se traduce en afectaciones a las cadenas de distribución.
Desde el pasado 7 de diciembre, Perú se encuentra sumido en una crisis política debido a la destitución de Pedro Castillo, expresidente peruano que solicitó la disolución del Congreso.
Tras la toma del poder por parte de Dina Boluarte, miles de peruanos han salido a las calles a exigir su renuncia inmediata y la organización de nuevas elecciones.
