Seis trabajadores de una fábrica de tintes en la India han muerto y 23 tuvieron que ser ingresados en hospital tras inhalar gases tóxicos provocados por un vertido ilegal de residuos químicos. El incidente tuvo lugar este jueves en la ciudad de Surat, en el estado de Gujarat, aproximadamente a las 4 de la madrugada.
«Un camión cisterna vertía ilegalmente productos químicos en un riachuelo cercano a la fábrica, que, posiblemente, reaccionaron con otro producto químico presente en el agua y crearon gases tóxicos», declaró a la agencia el jefe de bomberos de la Corporación Municipal de Surat, Basant Pareek.
