La compañía fabricante de autos eléctricos Tesla reportó este lunes en una presentación a la Comisión de Bolsa y Valores de EE.UU., citada por CoinDesk, una pérdida de 170 millones de dólares en el primer semestre del año en sus tenencias de bitcóin.
No obstante, la empresa propiedad del magnate Elon Musk informó de una ganancia de 64 millones millones de dólares por la venta del 75 % de sus activos digitales durante el mismo periodo.
Tesla poseía alrededor de 42.000 bitcoines antes del último trimestre, por lo que se calcula que el precio de venta promedio fue de 29.000 dólares por cada uno.
El pasado mes de febrero, la firma con sede en Texas anunció la compra de bitcoines por valor de 1.500 millones de dólares, operación que provocó una subida en el valor de dicha moneda digital.
Por otra parte, la empresa informó de un incremento en su plan de gastos y espera gastar entre 6.000 y 8.000 millones de dólares en lo que queda de este año y en los próximos dos.
