El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE) amplió la tarde de este lunes a doce provincias en alerta verde, debido a la incidencia de una onda tropical y vaguada al este, noreste, sureste y de la Cordillera Central del país.
Luego de que se conocieran en horas tempranas alerta verde, para las provincias de La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Monte Plata, El Seibo, Monseñor Nouel y Hato Mayor, esta tarde fueron añadidas La Vega, El Gran Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Sánchez Ramírez y San José de Ocoa, ascendiendo a un total de 12.
El transcurso del día se mantendrá desde aguaceros moderados a fuertes tormentas eléctricas y ráfagas de viento en las regiones y áreas señaladas. Mientras que para provincias de la parte suroeste se podrían generan algunos aguaceros locales con tronadas aisladas durante la noche.
Ante la ocurrencia de aguaceros, las autoridades exhortan a los residentes en zonas de alto riesgo que habitan próximo a ríos, arroyos y cañadas deben de estar atentos y tomar las medidas de precaución necesarias ante posibles crecidas e inundaciones repentinas.
